Penang is the textured member of the Flotex Colour family — a fine linear grain worked into the flocked surface, which does the same job a fleck does on a carpet tile: it breaks up the plane so daily soiling does not read.
100% polyamide 6.6, 5mm total thickness, 62.5% recycled content, 19 dB impact sound reduction, Class 33 with continuous castor chair use. Seventeen colourways.
The practical difference from a carpet tile is that Flotex can be wet-cleaned properly — Forbo calls it the only truly washable textile floor covering, and quotes 4–6 hours drying against around 24 for carpet. In a building that cleans overnight, that is the difference between usable and not.
